Dissen am Teutoburger Wald ist ein namhafter Industriestandort mit großen Betrieben der Le-bensmittelindustrie, Druckereien und metallverarbeitenden Unternehmen. Insgesamt finden über 5000 Berufstätige hier einen Arbeitsplatz – unterstützt durch die gute Infrastruktur mit optimaler Verkehrsanbindung an die A 33. Der legendäre „Haller Willem“ fährt im Stundentakt vom histo-rischen Bahnhof Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde, der auch den Jazzclub Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde behei-matet. Kunst und Kultur werden im KuK-Haus angeboten und sportlich ist man auf der Sportfrei-anlage mit zahlreichen Abteilungen bestens aufgehoben. Dissen aTW bietet Erholung pur direkt vor der Haustür, z. B. mit TERRA.vita, anerkannt als UNESCO Geopark. Größter Publikumsmagnet ist das dreitägige Stadtfest „Dissen skurril“ mit Tausenden von Besuchern jährlich. Ein gemütlicher Zuckerbäckermarkt an der Kirche stimmt stets am 1. Adventwochenende auf die bevorstehende Weihnachtszeit ein.
The town of Dissen am Teutoburger Wald is a renowned industrial location with large busi-nesses working in the food industry together with printing firms and metal processing com-panies. Altogether the town provides employment for more than 5,000 people and is supported by good infrastructure, with the A33 providing an ideal link to the motorway network. The legen-dary “Haller Willem” train runs every hour from the historical Dissen-Bad Rothenfeld railway station; this building is also home to the Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde jazz club. The KuK-Haus offers art and culture, while the open-air sport facility is used for various different kinds of sport. Dissen aTW offers recreation and recuperation on its doorstep, with the UNESCO Nature and Geopark TERRA.vita, for example. The three-day town fair “Dissen skurril” attracts thousands of visitors every year. A cosy confectionary market is always held near the church on the 1st Advent weekend and gets people in the mood for the upcoming Christmas season.
